Miao Wang is a New York-based filmmaker. Her award-winning documentary features Maineland (SXSW Jury Winner and NYTimes Critic's Pick) and Beijing Taxi (New York Magazine Critic's Pick), and short Yellow Ox Mountain have screened at over 200 international festivals and institutions such as SXSW and the Guggenheim Museum, with US theatrical release, nationwide broadcasts, digitally released globally on multiple platforms, with broad educational distribution. She directed Made by China in America, a documentary short in the acclaimed We the Economy series. In addition to independently producing critically acclaimed and award-winning non-fiction films, she directs, produces, and edits commissioned work for clients such as the Guggenheim Museum, the Criterion Collection, Vulcan Productions, and Vice Media, as well as branded programming for corporate and commercial clients such as Ogilvy, DuPont, Philips, Microsoft Design, and Time Inc. Miao is a fellow of the Sundance Institute, Impact Partners, Firelight Media, the Jerome Foundation, New York State Council on the Arts, the Tribeca Film Institute, IFP Filmmaker's Lab, Women Make Movies, and the Flaherty Film Seminar. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Miao holds a BA in economics from the University of Chicago, and an MFA in design and film from the Parsons School of Design.

Damon Smith is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and story consultant based in New York City. His producing credits include 100 YEARS OF WARNER BROS. (Max, 2023), SISTERS WITH TRANSISTORS (Metrograph Films 2021), ANBESSA (Berlinale 2019), MAINELAND (Special Jury Award, SXSW 2017), BETTY: THEY SAY I’M DIFFERENT (IDFA 2017) and the IDA-nominated WE THE ECONOMY and FOCUS FORWARD: SHORT FILMS, BIG IDEAS, which screened at more than 90 film festivals worldwide, including Sundance, Tribeca, IDFA, Melbourne, and Busan. Prior to his work as a producer, Damon was Head of Programming for Film & Animation at Babelgum, Editor-in-Chief at FilmCatcher, and a contributing editor of Filmmaker Magazine. In 2009, he created and curated Project: New Cinephilia, an acclaimed online magazine and international symposium on the state of the art of cinema, hosted by the Edinburgh Film Festival. Damon also co-produced the 44-episode online series Reverse Shot Talkies and is the author of Michael Winterbottom: Interviews (University Press of Mississippi, 2011).
